Gwasa Electrical was established in 2014 by Tlou Alfred Chokoe. The business is 100% black owned and managed. It specializes in industrial, commercial and domestic electrical contracting work.
Our services range from commercial installations to small residential electrical repairs. Clients can rely on our credibility and professional approach to any assignment and be assured that their projects will be completed with peace of mind.
Our business is anchored by good customer relations and most of our business comes from customer referrals.
We are proactive in the training, education and empowerment of previously disadvantaged individuals. We ensure that our team is up to date with all the latest safety standards and regulations by having regular training sessions, during which we discuss customer core work, ethic, challenges and how to deal with them.
Gwasa is registered with the Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa (ECA) and has all the necessary accreditations from relevant government authorities to provide a certified service to our clients. We are also authorised to issue certificates of compliance (COC).
Protecting the health and promoting the safety of our employees and the public is a vital part of our operations and we adhere to the rules and regulations of the OHS Act 85 of 1993.
We are registered with the Department of Labour (DOL) and we attend workshops and seminars with the association, which assists us with the up skilling and keeping abreast of the latest changes in the regulation and technology that impacts our business and offering to our clients. Our commitment to quality work has been recognised by construction, commercial industry and domestic clients.
Tlou has over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering sphere and gained his core experience within the steel manufacturing industry. He is a qualified and registered installation electrician. He is also a qualified millwright who holds N6 in electrical engineering. He is also completing his practical project management with UNISA.

We have three bakkies and the right tools to solve any electrical problem or for any installation. We have apprentices that we are developing to become qualified electricians in the future and we have four electricians as well as four semi-skilled electrician and a first aid team.

Phuti Thopola is the CEO of GWASA PTY. Mr Thopola is a qualified mechanical and electrical engineer. He is currently completing his GCC qualification with DOL.
Maserole Moabelo is currently our Marketing Director and ensures that safety is not compromised on all the sites that we work on. He holds an honours degree in geology and environmental management.
